The Sisterhood of the Traveling Art Journal
It started with a question:
What if artists could connect not just online, but through something real—tangible, handmade, and deeply personal?
That’s how the Sisterhood of the Traveling Art Journal was born. I launched the project with one blank journal and a simple rule: each artist fills a page with something that expresses them. A painting, a sketch, a poem, a splash of color—anything that captures a moment in their creative journey. Then, they pass it on.
As the journal travels from hand to hand, it becomes more than a book—it becomes a living archive of artistic voices, layered with personality, style, and emotion. It’s a chance to step into another artist’s world for a moment before leaving your own mark.
This project isn’t about perfection. It’s about connection. About building something that grows with each stop it makes. And we’re just getting started.
First entry was, A. Trantham, owner of The Polka Dot Pear. Her entry was timeless, romantic, and classic.
Second Entry was, A.S. Williams, owner of Koi Kitties Fine Art. Her entry was a classic candy, the vibrant red foiled candy brings a sense of nostalgia.
Third Entry was A. Eudy, a Hendersonville local artist that participates in the Annual Bear Painting. Her depiction of this emu is flawless, with a whimsical flare.
Fourth Entry was C. Noel, a local art to our beautiful Hendersonville. See her use of imagination and color to give us this fantastic rendering of a mermaid and alligator. Find her on Instagram @cheynoel.art.
Let’s see how far it can go before it’s full.
